EDAM HONORS JINGLE ALL THE RANGE

Jingle All The Range Wins Economic Development Association of Minnesota Award for Innovation

Eveleth — Iron Range Tourism Bureau (IRTB) recently received the Award for Innovation from the Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM). The award, which was presented at EDAM’s annual conference, recognized IRTB’s 2022 holiday promotion, Jingle All The Range.

A coordinated effort to highlight area events from mid-November through New Year’s Eve, Jingle All The Range includes a website, social media package, and additional marketing efforts. The goal was to encourage Rangers to explore the region and experience the many local events while creating a draw for tourists who could easily plan their trip around the festivities.

And in its launch year Jingle All The Range has already gained attention as a success!

Through the efforts of Kim Sampson who made the website, Ceasar Ortega who spearheaded their social media, Beth Pierce who was the one who directed and launched the campaign, as well as the Jingle All the Range (JATR) committee members who helped to
promote the project, JATR helped make The Range area a seasonal destination. “It’s just great to see that we did something special,” said Ceasar Ortega, Marketing Coordinator for the Iron Range Tourism Bureau.

How big was their impact?
JATR brought increased local spending, more visitors, and even one event that anticipated only 50-100 attendees instead welcomed 400. There was also a 10% increase in occupancy for a local hotel that offered a JATR discount. And with this campaign only being in its’ first year it has already come a long way in making The Iron Range a holiday hot spot!

What is in store for next year?
With their launch being a hit JATR has already made connections with various
businesses and event organizers who run holiday specials. Working with them along with any
new holiday events that pop up JATR is already preparing to make the next Christmas season an
even bigger & brighter Christmas on The Range for visitors and residents of the area to enjoy.

“We’re very honored that EDAM selected Jingle All the Range for this award. We can’t
wait to see what kind of impact we can have next year,” said Beth Pierce, Director of the Iron
Range Tourism Bureau.

The Economic Development Association of Minnesota (EDAM) is a state-wide
association of professionals who specialize in economic development and champions economic
development through education, collaboration and advocacy. The organization’s 460+ members
consist of public, private and nonprofit professionals who are interested in staying informed and
connected to current economic development strategies and best practices.

The Iron Range Tourism Bureau is a non-profit destination marketing organization that
serves the communities of Hoyt Lakes, Aurora, Biwabik, Gilbert, Embarrass, Eveleth, Virginia,
Mountain Iron, Buhl, Chisholm, and Hibbing.
